it is imperative to live life

it is imperative to love deeply

right now,

right this second,

to tend to our tiny gardens,

to adopt a furry friend,

to kiss passionately,

intentionally,

in love

to believe in the goodness of life

because we know life is on our side

sure, death wants to

take us all with it

its lofty goal munching away

on everything precious

known to be so for centuries

and we suffer to witness

because we witness in love

and we know we are not meant

to let that side of us win

we know how the work is

to look the darkness within

and still,

after the pain,

the undeniable long list of damages,

self-inflicted, circumstantial, targeted,

they all must be put to rest in a garden,

delicately

and we can use it as food,

the starter for better springs

and breathe right here and right now

and say thank you life.

thank you for this opportunity to

know myself so wholly

ever expanding light within

slowly inviting darkness to

come out of there,

come out of there,

my little jewel,

it is safe for the door to open

and it is time for us to sing sweetly

for all that’s been sacrificed and fed upon,

to live for them and

ourselves until

we too bid our farewell

and reunite,

amongst flowers.
